Nicole Richie talks to Canadian media, shares about her collection and style
Nicole Richie has been out and about in Canada to promote her fashion accessories line, House of Harlow 1960. And while there, the mom to Harlow did not just posed with the papz and greeted her fans; she also spent her time there to chitchat with the Canadian media.
Smiling sweetly in one of the private shopping suites at Holt Renfrew’s Bloor St. flagship store, Nicole gamely shared her thoughts about her products to the press.
“This is the first thing I’ve done that’s been all me,” Nicole declares beaming with pride. “Everything else I’ve done has been in television. This is my design, my creation, my vision.”
Branded as one of Hollywood’s new style icons for her boho élan, Nicole sat comfortably in her seat as she sported black and gold crocheted tunic over black Wolford tights.
Talking about her fetish over the vintage fashion, Nicole shares, “I’ve been collecting jewellery my whole life. Like every little girl, I played with my mom’s jewellery. When I got older she started giving me things. Then I started going to flea markets when I travel. I have a pretty extensive collection.”
As for the pieces’ era and mood, Nicole describes her collection as “very eclectic. I like big chunky jewellery and jewellery that you can layer.”
Wearing Aztec-patterned bracelets and rings, a gold metal locket, a geometric bib and a leather and metal starburst ring that is bigger than a poker chip at the event, the former “Simple Life” star explained, “I wanted the jewellery to be huge because that’s what I wear.”
And unlike other stars, Nicole has been keen to add that she’s more practical when it comes to jewels, “I’m not one to spend a ton of money on jewellery. I don’t wear a lot of diamonds in my everyday life, so it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for me to do that for everyone else,” she said.
Well said there, Nicole. No other celeb could’ve said that any better. Bravo!
