With Nicole Richie’s once notorious image in Hollywood and Joel Madden’s rock star façade, who would’ve actually thought these two would hook-up successfully together and get through with all the controversies thrown at them?

I guess it is no wonder why Harlow’s parents have just been named as People’s second power couple, following Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in number 1.

Says the website: These days, the Good Charlotte frontman and the former wild child are better known for their charitable endeavors than outrageous exploits. Through their Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, the couple raised $10,000 for a playground for an L.A. children’s shelter. “The charity stuff is emotional – every kid becomes your child,” Madden, who is the proud dad to 1-year-old Harlow, told PEOPLE. “Every little baby deserves to be held and fawned over.”

Following Nic and Joel are Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, Jenny McCartney and Jim Carrey, and Victoria and David Beckham.

Now with that roster of A-list couples, aren’t we just too proud that Nicole and Joel landed on the second spot given the fact that they relatively have just started their family compared to other power couples on the list.

Nonetheless, we know for a fact this list isn’t a battle for who’s the sweetest or the most beautiful pair there is in Hollywood. For me, here are pairs who ought to inspire other couples in the world and spread the love further.

Nicole has entered the mandatory alcohol education program, after her DUI conviction in the past year of which she avoided 96 hours of jail time. Here is the full article:

“Simple Life” star Nicole Richie has enrolled in an 18-month anti-drinking program, media reported Friday.

The six-month-pregnant Nicole signed up for the SB 38 Alcohol Program on Sept. 26.

The program is for “people who have been convicted of DUI of alcohol or drugs on more than one occasion within a 7 year period,” according to the Santa Barbara Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse website.

In the course, Richie will have to undergo 52 hours of group counseling, biweekly face-to-face interviews and 12 hours of alcohol education.

Richie was arrested for DUI on Dec. 11 after she was spotted driving the wrong way down Highway 134 in southern California. She admitted to smoking marijuana and taking the painkiller Vicodin.

She already had an alcohol-related conviction back in 2003.

Pregnant socialite Nicole Richie is said to be at a “high risk” of a miscarriage. Richie, who recently announced she was four months pregnant with ‘Good Charlotte’ rocker Joel Madden’s baby, was recently rushed to the hospital after she noticed some bleeding. Friends of the reality TV star say that she was very scared and thought she was going to miscarry. Doctors reassured her the baby was fine, but encouraged her to eat much more. They said Richie suffered from “nutritional deficiency.”

Experts say that her health makes her pregnancy risky. Troy Hailparn, an ob-gyn who hasn’t treated Richie, said: “She is absolutely at a greater danger of miscarrying than most women. Through some miracle, she managed to get pregnant and survive the first trimester, when most women with her history would suffer a miscarriage – but she’s not out of the woods yet.”

Pregnant reality TV star Nicole Richie was reportedly rushed to hospital recently, fearing she was suffering a miscarriage. She noticed bleeding and worried she would lose her baby at the end of last month, just after she and rocker boyfriend Joel Madden returned to Los Angeles from a tour with his band Good Charlotte. However, doctors quickly assured the four-months pregnant Richie her baby is safe, but did encourage her to eat more to feed the unborn child. An insider tells American magazine Star, “Nicole was bleeding so much, it was really scary for her. “They found out she’s suffering from both a hormonal and nutritional deficiency.”

For a gag on the Adam Corolla Radio Show, Danny Bonaduce visited Richie’s home, on Aug. 3, bearing a gift. He rang the doorbell and wasn’t expecting her to answer, but she did. She accepted and he reported back to the show, what a surprise it was for him. Pics to show.

I’m still somewhat skeptical of this source. However, TMZ, apparently, through numerous sources, has confirmed that Nicole is pregnant. Once again, Nicole or her representatives have yet to say it publicly but TMZ is a somewhat reliable source.

Sorry, we haven’t uploaded the latest installment of the Simple Life. It will be posted either later today or tomorrow. So keep checking back. Yesterday, Nicole’s Lawyer was in the courtroom for a hearing regarding Nicole’s DUI from last December. Nicole has decided she will fight the charge in hopes of not spending a day in jail.

There have been rumors elevating about Nicole Richie being pregnant. They began circulation after pictures from when Nicole and Mischa Barton went shopping. Nicole’s outfit showed a belly not unlike what females have in the early stages of pregnancy. The gossip that has ensued as a result of this rumor has been massive. Nicole has denied the rumor, however never on television and that’s where the credibility of the rumor is still in question. Not even Nicole’s own father knows if she is pregnant or not.

After last season’s falling out Nicole and Paris have decided to reunite in another rendition of “The Simple Life”.

“The Simple Life Goes to Camp”, is set to debut in May. It has the duo working as camp counselors. Yes, that’s right – camp counselors. Camp Shawnee, a camp based in the mountains near Los Angeles, hosts five different specialty genres: Wellness, Pageant, Couples, Survival and Drama camp. I’m sure Nicole will be a pro at Survival camp.
