Today is February 14; Valentine’s Day. And so I guess I now have an excuse to get mushy and cheesy for today’s post.

For this very special day, I am taking this as an opportunity to feature the love story of our favorite fashionista, Nicole Richie and her partner, Joel Madden.

It all started…

Early of December 2006.

Just weeks after the Good Charlotte vocalist announced his breakup with his former girlfriend, Hillary Duff, Joel and Nicole sparked up romance rumors when they were spotted “dancing together and holding hands Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel”.

An onlooker that night once told UsWeekly that “Nicole couldn’t stop smiling. I’ve never seen her happier.”

The big [pleasant] surprise…

Is of course when the couple announced that after months of dating, they are expecting their first born child.

“Yes, I am. We are. I’m almost four months,” Nicole confirmed in July 2007 to ABC News’ Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview. Two months after, Joel also did an interview with Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show saying, “Obviously, marriage is in our future. “I don’t know when or where or how, but right now our priority is our family and is the baby.”

Parenthood…

On January 11, 2008, Nicole and Joel finally became parents with their cutie and beautiful daughter, Harlow Winter Kate.

Breakup rumors…

Like other Hollywood celebrities, our superstar couple has also not been spared of breakup rumors.

In September 2008, Star reported that Nicole and Joel’s relationship could already be on the rocks as the first was said to have moved out from their house with Harlow and the latter partied all night long getting cozy with Mischa Barton.

These rumors was then shrugged off when the couple was photographed together and looking okay.

Going stronger…

And I guess that’s obvious.

We may not expect a “happy ever after” for the two, it’s good to see them doing well and being in-love with each other.

Joel Madden is certainly back from his extended trip to the East Coast, and despite being busy preparing for his attendance for last night’s 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards, the doting father still made sure that he spends some time with his cutie little girl, Harlow Winter Kate.

Scrolling around LA for some bonding moment, the two sure looked like they were having a good time with each other, especially on Harlow’s part. Wearing a girlie purple jacket, Joel’s little girl shows an apparent smile on her face that all the more made her so endearing and adorable.

Awwww… I just couldn’t take my eyes off Harlow’s lovable and content look while in the arms of her daddy. I don’t know with you, but for me, Harlow’s got to be one of the cutest celebrity babies today.

Last night may have been one of the most important nights for music artists worldwide. And being a musician himself, of course Nicole Richie’s partner, Joel Madden wouldn’t miss for his life the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards.

Held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Harlow’s dad was all groomed-up for the night. In the photo, he poses with fellow musician Dave Stewart and other guests.

So you might be asking, where’s Nicole at this very moment? – With Harlow of course. Being doting parents to their daughter who just turned one last January 11, the two can’t leave their home together otherwise who would be left for cutie Harlow, right?!

Meanwhile, Hollyscoop caught up with Joel along with other stars to ask who he is rooting for and are most excited to see for last night’s event. His answer? – “Lil Wayne!”

While enjoying his time with his twin brother, Benji Madden at the DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, Joel Madden managed to speak with E!online and talked about his partner’s whereabouts during the weekend.

“She’s a mom; she’s not really interested in going to any parties. She occasionally goes to parties, but I like football and this is a brothers’ trip,” talks Joel about Nicole Richie.

Asked about his daughter, Harlow Winter who just turned 1, the proud father has this to say: “She’s great She’s growing fast. She speaks five different languages and she’s actually becoming a baby translator. She translates for other babies.”

And proving that Nicole can really trust him now, Joel was spotted solo, trying his luck at the tables at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino around 2 a.m. last Saturday.

While Nicole Richie partied last Thursday (January 29) at the Byron & Tracey Salon Party in California with her former stylist, Rachel Zoe, her partner, Joel Madden and unofficial brother-in-law, Benji Madden was out in St. Petersburg, Florida to attend the DIRECTV’s 3rd Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl at Progress Energy Park.

Ready with their football attire, the two seems ready to ‘rumble’ or actually pose with camera. Now isn’t it adorable to see the twins’ closeness?

Meanwhile, while Benji seems to be coping up well after his breakup with Paris Hilton, the latter seems to be considering a British man as the former’s replacement.

“I think British men are so sexy and sophisticated and gentlemanly and hot. I love the accent. I haven’t heard of Antanddec — is that one person?,” says Paris in one of her interviews with the UK media.

He is the man who stood by Nicole Richie for more than two years now. He is the loving and doting father of Harlow Winter Kate. But who really is Joel Madden?

Joel Madden was born to a middle class Irish-Catholic family. He is the lead vocalist for the band Good Charlotte where his identical twin brother, Benji also plays the lead guitar.

He was 16 years old when their father left them and caused the family financial hardships. Joel then changed their last name from Combs, his father’s last name, to Madden, their mother’s maiden name.

In 1995, Joel, along with his brother Benji, attended the Beastie Boys III Communication tour that drew their attention and love for music. This then eventually led them to team up with two other high school friends and form the band, Good Charlotte.

Before Nicole, Joel dated Hilary Duff for two and half years.

It was in July 2007 that Joel and Nicole confirmed the latter’s pregnancy. And in January 11, 2008, they gave birth to their daughter, Harlow.
