His girlfriend, Nicole Richie is Michael Jackson’s goddaughter. Nicole’s father, Lionel Richie, is a good friend of the King of Pop. With Michael’s death, how did Joel Madden feel about the whole thing?

Well we could assume that as a musician, Michael Jackson has in one way or another influenced the music of the Good Charlotte vocalist. After all, Michael is music.

But in a chat with Daily 10’s Catt Sadler last week, Joel shared that attending Michael Jackson’s memorial, he is especially touched by the latter’s three children.

He said, “It was a heavy day. You never wanna think about your kids ever having to go through that.”

Well I guess more than losing a music icon, Joel knew that three kids have lost a father. As a father of Harlow and one coming, this is something Joel Madden would not want his kids to experience.

Well I am not supposed to do this post as I know this would be too petty for an argument. However, reading one comment posted on my last post, I realized some fans may have misunderstood me all along.

First of all, I am not – NEVER – a Michael Jackson hater, but I am not a fan either. In that last post I made that really apparent. Being neither a hater nor fan doesn’t make me douche I believe. I had to read that post back to check if there was something offensive I wrote other than admitting my not being a fan, and honestly I still can’t see what offended the others (if I missed something please tell me, but please don’t be rude).

Copying from my opening sentence in that article I wrote, “I may not be a huge fan but I am joining with the whole world in mourning for the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.” Wasn’t the “but I am joining with the whole world in mourning for the death of the King of Pop,” enough to show my respect for MJ?

Second, with one commenter saying “…show some respect to Nicole,” wasn’t that what that post was about? I made an entry about Michael Jackson’s death here – even if this is a Nicole Richie blog – because I want to pay tribute to Jacko who happens to be Nicole Richie’s godfather, too.

Quoting again from that post, I believe when I wrote “I may not be a Michael Jackson fan, but I recognize how huge his loss is in the entertainment industry and in the lives of the people who love him,” I sincerely mean what it means.

I know I am ranting pointless here but I just want to let the readers of this blog know that it is never my intention to offend Michael Jackson fans out there.

I may not be a huge fan but I am joining with the whole world in mourning for the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Michael, 50, passed away yesterday after he was taken to a Los Angeles hospital for a cardiac arrest.

So why are we talking about Michael Jackson here in Nicole Richie Watch?

Well for those of you who do not know, Michael is one of Nicole Richie’s godfathers – Quincy Jones is the other one. But while Quincy has already issued a statement regarding the King of Pop’s death, saying “I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him,” the mom to Harlow mourned in silence when the news broke.

Joel Madden, Nicole’s boyfriend, has however updated his Twitter page saying, “I’m getting off the computer. Gonna spend time with my family. It was a sad day. Need a break from all of this. Rest in Peace Michael.”

Again, I may not be a Michael Jackson fan, but I recognize how huge his loss is in the entertainment industry and in the lives of the people who love him. I am also sure that Nicole Richie is among these people who are saddened and devastated by this news.

For having touched the lives of the many and inspiring a lot of people with his music, rest in peace, Michael, from us here in Nicole Richie Watch.

I just have followed on Joel Madden and Nicole Richie on Twitter but in just a short while I just couldn’t help but visit their pages every now and then. Why I love the exchange of comments these two have for each other’s activities; I was smiling, I was laughing, and really amused reading on their pages.

Aside from being funny, the two also did not miss to show – at least imply – their love and support for each other.

Now who isn’t easily pissed off with people who seem to just always have a say with your decisions and personal life?

NY Post reports that Nicole Richie has recently dropped her manager, Benny Medina, after the mom of Harlow got fed up with the latter’s meddling.

In January Benny shut down his management company, Handprint Entertainment, yet several stars like Nicole, Jennifer Lopez, and Marc Anthony still kept him as consultant. But last week, the socialite and former reality star may have had enough as she finally decided to let go of Benny.

Unfortunately, the former manager of Nicole refused to admit he’s been axed, thus, said, “I closed a deal on a clothing line for her but I’m a pay-for-play consultant. A gun for hire. If something comes across my desk, I’ll call, but I’m not holding purses anymore.”

Well of course who would admit that they’re really been meddling over somebody’s life, right?!

Hey guys! On my previous update, I posted about Grazia Australia’s article focused on Nicole Richie’s [rumored] thoughts on quitting Hollywood. Coming from a tabloid, I think and I believe there isn’t much truth in this story. And I am giving you some reasons why I’m confident Harlow’s mom wouldn’t quit Hollywood, at least not yet.

Check out some of these reasons and tell me what you think about it:

1. First and foremost, Nicole Richie grew up in the limelight, as Lionel’s adopted daughter I believe that Nicole has pretty much enjoyed every bit of being an instant celebrity.

2. With her fetish for clothes and fashion, I think Hollywood is the best place for Nic to flaunt and show off her fashion side.

3. For someone who is currently passionate on charity works and other philanthropic activities, I think Nicole can exploit her being a Hollywood celebrity to further push her cause.

4. I do think too that our petite fashionista loves her fans enough not to leave them too soon, right?!

5. Last but not the least, it is in being a celebrity and in Hollywood that Nicole met her boyfriend now, Joel Madden, I do believe that’s also a factor for her not to quit yet.

Of course one could argue that these reasons I’ve presented could also be the very causes as to why Nicole may actually consider not wanting to be in Hollywood anymore. But well, I guess the only one who can confirm or deny this is of course Nicole herself.

2008 seems to have been a year for Hollywood babies. The whole year was filled with new-born babies from various celebrities. And of course when we talk about 2008 babies, Nicole Richie’s and Joel Madden’s very own Harlow would always be on the list.

And now that she’s turned one let’s go back a year and check out how our dear Harlow grew in our very own eyes.

“She likes to dress up. You can see it in her face. She just loves dressing up; she loves putting on tights and bows and stuff like that. I’m not too caught up in her fashion at the moment. I just let her wear what’s comfortable for her. But she loves those tights,” Mom Nicole gushes about her darling.

Obviously a daddy’s girl, Joel Madden was once quoted saying, “I can’t imagine life without her. She’s the most important thing in the world to us.”

At 11 months, Harlow already is perceptive to the papz that took a snap on them with her mom. What an adorable kid…

Changing her mom’s life, Nicole once said, “She’s never out of my mind. I stop doing things for me anymore. Everything is for her.”

This is my last post I will be doing for Nicole Richie Watch. I have had a great time dishing about that beautiful, interesting starlet and I will certainly miss writing about her. Due to certain circumstances, I cannot manage to put in the proper amount of work to upkeep this blog, as you can see by the scarcity of recent articles. Therefore, I hope you can give the next writer the same courtesy and respect that I have been blessed with writing this blog. But don’t be deterred, I still am writing for ABC Soaps Watch on 451 Press- please do check that out if you can.

Farewell, Its been a fun ride.

Nicole Richie, along with fiancee Joel Madden, has arrived in Australia as part of Madden’s band Good Charlotte’ s Aussie tour. Along with them, his brother Benji Madden and his fiancee Sophia Monk came for the Aussie tour. When Benji and Sophia left the airport, they had no car service to escort them to the hotel, so they had to rent cars- but alas it was a eco-friendly Toyota Prius, so I applaud them for that. The hospitality in Australia is shot by that comment, I am sorry for any offense that was taken. His brother, Joel, was busy pushing the mounds of luggage of his fiancee, Nicole.

Very familiar with causing controversy as she is with high fashion, Richie, who by the way is six months pregnant - combined the two when she disembarked at Brisbane airport wearing a pair of silver stilettos. Richie did her best to keep a low profile but it was next to impossible with her huge fame, even down under. Her bulging belly was hardly noticeable beneath her t-shirt, although she is three months from her due date. The doctors gave her the green light to travel the 14-hour flight to Australia, where it was believed Nicole and Joel’s child was conceived. Hey maybe this could be the place where the little baby could be born, now wouldn’t that be cool. This is a very busy week for the pair with them kicking off the tour tonight in Brisbane, then jetting off to Sydney for the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards tomorrow, and finally performing a show at Hordern Pavilion on Thursday.

Nicole Richie with her fiancee, Joel Madden, showed that she didn’t need to wait in the line at the airport security. She made her way through the velvet ropes but of course she had to remove her shoes, like any other human being but I wouldn’t say she is a risk. Birthday girl Nicole Richie and fiancee Joel Madden were in Hawaii to celebrate her 26th b-day yesterday. She looks very healthy and seems to be enjoying life now. In honor of this joyous day, I will also post her full biography plus a picture from her special day:

Today is Nicole Richie’s 26th Birthday, I am so glad to share in the joy of her birthday. I don’t know how the world would be without you, you are just a gem. And pretty soon, she will have the greatest joy of life, a child and I hope that she is happy today, of all days!

Lil’ mama-to-be Nicole Richie caused serious problems outside Fred Segal on Saturday — but this time, she didn’t do anything wrong.

The cops gave up, and Richie took off without incident. Later in the day, paparazzi spotted her again, and left an opening in the crowd for her passage. Pregnancy has its perks.
