Nicole and Joel Go Baby Shopping
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are preparing for their new baby by buying tools to enhance the baby’s mind. She were spotted buying a prenatal education system by BabyPlus at Destination Maternity on Madison Avenue in NYC. When she saw it when walking by the store, she knew that she had to have it and in the meanwhile tried on several maternity clothes. She was asking many questions and was very cautious of what she was buying.

Richie Shocked By Early Release
Tuesday, August 28th, 2007Nicole Richie was surprised that she was booked, released, and then sent home in just over an hour(82 min.). Other people in her situation would be released in a couple of hours, but in her case it was sooner. This is most possibly because of her celebrity and the press that she brings to the situation. She was totally prepared to serve out her 96 hour sentence, that she was required to do and was very surprised of her early release. These charges stem from her 2nd DUI conviction, when she drove in the wrong lane on the California highway in Burbank in December.

Richie and Madden Plan to Honeymoon Down Under
Saturday, August 25th, 2007Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning to honeymoon in Australia, where their unborn baby was conceived. It was when they spent time there for the Australian MTV Awards early 2007. Apparently Joel Madden and his band, Good Charlotte, are touring Australia in October 07, so there is a chance that they could marry in September. It does appear doubtful that this will
happen because of statements that they won’t marry until their child is born. One thing is true, they fell in love with Australia when they first visited together in early 2007 and will definitely honeymoon there in the future.

Richie to Remain Drug-Free, Even in Labor
Saturday, August 25th, 2007As to not mess up her now drug-free lifestyle, Nicole Richie has reportedly said that she would endure childbirth without painkillers. She has been drug-free since May for the reason of being a good role model for her child. She is very conscious of her baby and is extremely careful of what she puts in her body. If there is one vice that she says she still abuses, it would be diet soda- which is not recommended for pregnant women- but at least it’s not as bad as what she was abusing in the past. Nicole is due to give birth around the winter season, most likely in January.

Paris Buys Baby Clothes for Nicole’s Baby
Friday, August 24th, 2007Paris Hilton was spotted ,yesterday, buying up to $10,000 of baby clothes for Nicole’s impending baby. She is very excited for her best friend and alleges that she doesn’t know the sex of the baby. She left with 12 bags full of baby clothes- crowding her car for sure and the clothing ranges from cute onesies to cute little baby shoes.

Nicole Richie and Joel Will Wait to Tie the Knot
Friday, August 24th, 2007Apparently Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will wait until after the birth of their child to get married. Which will be early 2008, if they still plan on marrying each other. She says that she doesn’t want the child to one day think that its parents got married because of pregnancy. One good reason is that Nicole wants the time to plan her dream wedding that she always has wanted. In addition to her upcoming nuptials and her pregnancy, she still has to serve her 96 hour sentence before September 28 for her DUI.

Nicole Richie Reports to Jail, Then Leaves
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007Nicole Richie was booked at the Lynwood County Jail, where pal Paris Hilton served time earlier this year, at 3:15 this afternoon. She was sentenced in July for driving on the wrong side of the freeway in her 2nd DUI arrest. Superior Court Commissioner Steven K. Lubell handed down a sharp tongue-lashing to the pint-sized star as slapped her with a four-day sentence.”The facts of this case, as the court knows it, is pretty scary. Someone could have gotten killed or injured. The court does not want anything to happen to you,” Lubell told Richie.”If you continue to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and someone gets killed, you can be charged with murder, not manslaughter.” “I hope that never, ever happens.”
He says that the murder charge would stick because she has two prior convictions. He says that it must be completed by September 28 and she must enroll in a rehab program and by Feb. 2008 must prove that she completed that program. She has been processed and is currently serving her 96 hour sentence.
I just learned that she only served 35 minutes in her cell released at 4:37 PM and her super lawyer got her out early. I am not very surprised, I didn’t think she’d even serve closer to 24 hours in jail. I guess we will just have to wait and see what will unfold next.

Conviction Keeps Nicole Out of Canada
Monday, August 20th, 2007Nicole Richie’s conviction prevents her from travelling with her fiance, Joel Madden, and his band Good Charlotte in Canada. An article on this follows:
Rocker Joel Madden is in Canada without his pregnant girlfriend and rumoured fiancee, Nicole Richie, because a recent impaired-driving conviction is keeping Richie, 25, in the United States.
The Good Charlotte singer flew from Washington to Montreal on Saturday for a concert at the Bell Centre while Richie caught a flight home to Los Angeles.
Last month, Richie, star of the Simple Life, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of marijuana and Vicodin and was sentenced to four days in prison. She must serve her time before the end of September. Richie was also fined, placed on three years probation and ordered to join a drug and alcohol program.
It is not known if her sentence prevents her from leaving the U.S. but Canada Customs has the right to refuse entry to anyone with a DUI conviction. Richie is more than four months pregnant and rumours are swirling that she and Madden are engaged.
Madden’s brother and band mate, Benji, brought his fiancee, actress Sophie Monk, to Canada.
On the weekend, a Virginia radio host told People magazine that when he congratulated Madden on his engagement, the singer replied: “Thank you so much.”
Good Charlotte performs as the opening act for Justin Timberlake in Toronto on Tuesday, and then heads west to Winnipeg for two weekend concerts and a show in Edmonton next week.
